Sometimes a kitchen just needs one change to feel completely different. Not new cabinets, not new countertops - just the right backsplash in the right spot. That was exactly the situation here in Grand Lake.

Here's what we were working with - a solid kitchen that already had great bones. Nice maple shaker cabinets, black granite countertops, stainless appliances. Everything was functional. But the walls behind the counters were plain, and the space felt unfinished because of it. The kitchen had potential it wasn't living up to.

We went with a slate-look tile in a staggered brick pattern. The cool gray tones pull from the granite and give the whole kitchen a grounded, cohesive feel. It runs the full length of the counter wall and wraps the corner - so nothing looks like an afterthought. That consistency is what makes it work.

This is one of our favorite types of work because the impact is so obvious. A backsplash update is one of the most cost-effective things you can do to a kitchen short of a full remodel. It adds texture, color, and character without touching a single cabinet or appliance. For anyone who likes their kitchen layout but wants it to feel more pulled together - this is the move.

We do backsplash installs as a standalone service, and we also incorporate them into full kitchen remodels when the scope calls for it. Either way, tile selection and layout planning are a big part of what we do - because getting those details right is what separates a good result from a great one.
