Grand Lake Cabin Goes From Bare Studs to Smooth Walls

This Grand Lake cabin was a full skeleton when we got started - open framing, exposed wiring, spray foam insulation on the ceiling, and nothing but raw wood as far as you could see. That's exactly the kind of blank canvas we love working with. Every room, every hallway, every wall had to be built out from scratch.

Drywall is one of those things people don't think much about until it's done. When the boards go up and the mud gets worked in, the whole space shifts. Rooms start to feel like rooms. It stops being a construction site and starts looking like a home - and that transition matters a lot for everything that comes after, like paint, trim, and finishing work.

The vaulted ceiling line on the main room was the trickiest part of this job. Getting drywall to sit tight and flat against angled framing takes more planning than a standard flat ceiling. We mapped it out carefully before a single sheet went up. That kind of prep work is what keeps seams tight and surfaces straight when it's time to finish.

What you're left with is a solid, clean substrate ready for the next phase. The mud work is in, the walls are covered floor to peak, and the hallway runs clean all the way through.
